When you are investing in a big ticket item such as pieces of furniture or wooden shutters, you need to have confidence in your supplier for many reasons. You are spending a relatively large amount of money and you have to forge a close working relationship with your interior supplier.
Firstly, you have to have confidence in the quality of manufacture – you are paying for the best quality and should expect to receive nothing less.
You need to be sure that the supplier will be using the materials he says he is using and the care and attention which is necessary for a great finished product.
Secondly, you have to be sure that he will deliver on time. So many times, stores have promised to deliver items such as kitchens or sofas within a set time frame, only to break the promise completely. This is especially important if you are making improvements ahead of a special celebration or event.
Thirdly, you have to have the confidence in your supplier to advise you in your decision if necessary – after all they are the experts and if you have a specification in your head which will not work in reality, or if they have a better design idea, they should guide you in your decision. Any supplier worth his salt will become a trusted advisor.
